Hera orders King Eurystheus to order Hercules' to travel to the Underworld and return with the Underworld's most ferocious guard dog, Cerberus. Hercules seeks advice from the boy-crazy priestess, Eumelia, who is anything but helpful, and the goddess Athena, who recommends that they ask Hermes for help.
Hercules, Athena, and Hermes find the passageway, but must cross River Styx to get to the Underworld. The only way across is to convince Charon the Ferryman to row him across. The carnival-like Charon, so excited to visit with living humans, especially Hercules, agrees to help.
Once in the Underworld, Hercules encounters zombies, a snake woman, three beauties, Brute, and Theseus, his cousin and heroically captures Cerberus and takes him back to King Eurystheus, who releases Hercules from his Labors. Since Hercules spent so many years accomplishing his Labors, he doesn't know what to do with his life.
