GIFTED is a wonderful, sweet, touching, and dramatic play - great for actors and great for audiences. One set, seven characters, multiple generations. The play touches on themes of culture, heritage, family, generational relationships, entertainment and reality, love and loss, and life and death. Each character has dramatic moments and comedic moments, all woven together to tell this heartwarming story of a young teenager figuring out who he is and what he wants, as the characters around him learn to do the same over the course of the play. It is a treat for actors - an ensemble play with wonderful individual moments.

With GIFTED, Carrie Printz has woven together a story about a biracial family that appeals to both adults and older kids alike, blending humor and poignancy along with insights about human nature and the complicated world families face today. Audiences laughed heartily and were truly moved by this play that celebrates the cultural diversity of modern life. Synopsis
Fifteen-year-old Aseem Ganeshe is your typical American kid, brilliant, biracial and dying to be a reality TV star. During Aseem’s interview for the reality TV show, Stump The Brainiacs, he realizes the road to stardom isn’t going to be as easy. There are just a few things standing in his way: his self-righteous older sister, his interfering East Indian grandmother, and his widowed mother. Mix in Internet dating, boarding school, and culture clashes, and the Ganeshes problems are multiplying. Different cultures and generations mixed with issues of loss and family come together in this funny, poignant tale.
