| | | After graduating from the University of Iowa with an English major and biology minor, Ryan moved to Los Angeles. There, between anti-war protest marches, he carried a dead body past mourning parents, hit the floor during a strip-club shootout, and patronized Art Garfunkel's record store, all as an extra in the deep background of shows like "CSI" and "The West Wing." He later took a series of temp and office jobs, in his spare time haunting L.A.'s historic movie theatres and hiking miles and miles through the chapparal and snow of the San Gabriel and Santa Monica mountain ranges. In the last year, he discovered a more expensive and time-consuming way to fight for lost causes, and has been studying law ever since. | |
