Author's Notes:
I wrote this play on a Greyhound Bus traveling at night to a springtime conference in pre-Katrina New Orleans. Mile after mile of darkness. I wondered how the driver could stay alert. Then, gazing out the window, I noticed a string of colored lights outlining a tiny house at some distance from the highway. I couldn't help wondering who lived there, so far from everything. By the time the bus reached the next town, I knew the whole story. What I did not know was how much the comedy would come to life with a lead actor proficient in mime, as it did at the first performance of the play at the Turnip Theatre Festival in New York.

Synopsis
A long-distance bus driver sees a lot. On a dark road somewhere in the southern United States, this bus driver sees a lonely country man with a longing for home cooking put on his best clothes, gather his courage, and head into town. Who knows? This just might be the day he meets the woman of his dreams.
